Why does it cost so much to have your taxes prepared?
It is quite similar to the high cost of car repair. The industry, on a national scale, applies a universal time and
a value to each individual form, and lines on the form, for
preparers, and for dealers, each individual car issue that needs checked and fixed.

Please ask and compare my charges,
with HR Block in Dalton, or Jackson Hewitt in Walmart,
or online to any of the "free" return sites. Just ask them
to estimate a charge based just on the forms you have
had done. An estimate that will not have additional line item charges. I don't have their overhead or their franchize fees.
They have to charge high amounts before they can even
break even and get to their projected net profit.

Read the small print.
"Free Federal EZ Return". Additional charges may be added
for State return, e-filing Federal, e-filing State, rapid refund. Jackson Hewitt advertised 1040EZ $20, with the small print, which most everyone needs anyway. That "free", to "$20", charge turns
to $88, and with the small print, now totals over $200, just for a few more documents, that most normal high school, college, single person that uses this form has.

The maximum charge I would ever give for
any EZ Federal/State/EZ filing is $90. AND I usually
give breaks to high school, college people, especially if
I do their parents. AND, I can and will give you the personal time, free of charge, for advice on starting up a business, or tax consequences for certain scenarios. I can and will be available after tax season. I can and will represent you
before the IRS or State regarding audit notices.

As you may have found out, the cost to have your taxes
prepared each year is outrageously high, and continues to
increase each year with no end in sight.
